Des Plaines investigates space heater as cause of fire that killed 5; family was trapped in unit with no smoke detectors, officials say

A space heater may have started the deadly Des Plaines fire that trapped and killed four young girls and their mother and there were no working smoke detectors on their floor, the Des Plaines Fire Department said.
