Kristal Larson declares victory in bid to become first out transgender person elected to nonjudicial office in Illinois

After declaring victory in her race for Avon Township clerk, Kristal Larson, 45, will become the second openly transgender person ever elected in Illinois, according to the Washington, D.C.-based LGBTQ Victory Fund.
