A VA employee and a contractor were killed Friday morning at the West Haven VA Medical Center when a steam pipe they were repairing accidentally exploded. Three others were injured and were treated on the campus for non-life-threatening injuries, Alfred Montoya, Jr., director of the center, said at an afternoon news conference.
